Book Review: Her Mad Hatter by Marie Hall

Her Mad Hatter by Marie Hall

Alice is all grown up. Running the Mad Hatter’s Cupcakery and Tea Shoppe is a delicious job, until fate–and a fairy godmother with a weakness for bad boys–throws her a curveball. Now, Alice is the newest resident of Wonderland, where the Mad Hatter fuels her fantasies and thrills her body with his dark touch.

The Mad Hatter may have a voice and a body made for sex, but he takes no lovers. Ever. But a determined fairy godmother has forced Alice into Wonderland–and his arms. Now, as desire and madness converge, the Hatter must decide if he will fight the fairy godmother’s mating–or fight for Alice.

My rating 2 out of 5 stars

This is a short book (39,500 words) so I don’t want to give too much away, so it will also be a short review.

I wanted to love this book. I really did. It had an interesting premise and I really liked how Wonderland was a mirror of The Mad Hatters twisted mind. But it was just too rushed. Some of it was entertaining, but in my opinion it wasn’t well thought out. It was as if the author wanted this to be an intense erotica, but then when getting to the actual erotica didn’t know how to write it. I did enjoy the end of the book, and the writing got better as it went on. But overall, I was a bit disappointed.
